This is a very rare copy of Shakspere’s Complete Works, published in 1862 in London. It contains his plays and poems from the text of the editions by Charles Knight. It is beautifully bound in full green Moroccan leather, with gold gilt detailing all on the cover, spine and inside bordering. It has a gold crest on the front and back cover as well. There is a hand written inscription inside from 1864. It is heavily filled with gorgeous engravings and there are even some little treasures inside… such as a pressed flower and an engraving of a harbor, with the date 1839 written on the back…
Overall, this book is in amazing condition for its age! Very clean inside and out… the binding is nice and tight, there is no cracking on the hinges and barely any wear or rubbing! I’m honestly amazed at the condition. This is a stunning book to add to any collection!! It is a larger, thick book!
