*The Book of Common Prayer and Proper Lessons (specified Bible readings) were paired to unify Anglican worship, ensuring that daily prayer, Sunday services, and key theological themes were aligned with the church’s seasonal cycle in the vernacular. This structure provides a cohesive, comprehensive, and consistent journey through Scripture while balancing structured prayer with the ministry of the Word. The BCP provides the liturgical framework, while the proper lessons provide the specific Scripture for the day, guiding the congregation through the Bible in a structured way (e.g., Sunday First Lessons).
