Rare- 1825 The History of Paris From the Earliest Period to the Present Day: Containing a description of its antiquities, public buildings; Civil, religious, scientific & Commercial Institutions… With numerous historical facts and anecdotes, Hitherto unpublished, tending to illustrate the different areas of French history; particularly the eventful period of the revolution. To which is added an appendix, containing a notice of the Church of Saint Denis; An account of the violation of the Royal Tombs; Important statistical tables derived from official sources, etc. Published in London and they are written in English! This is an amazing set… they are very rare. I do not find much on specifically the history of Paris itself… these are bound in full Morocco leather and are worn to a very light tan coloring. They have decorative spines with what looks almost like butterflies on them! This is one of my favorite sets of all time… I love the look of them. They also have a very light pale pink and yellow marbled fore edge. There are no illustrations, just text. Any similar sets like this go for well over what I am asking.. so please keep this in mind.
