Rare- 1843 The Book of Common Prayer
The most amazing book I have ever seen!! 1843 The Book of Common Prayer & Administration of the Sacraments, & Other Rites & Ceremonies of the Church, According to the use of the United Church of England & Ireland; Together with The Psalms of David, pointed as they are to be sung in churches. This book was published in London by George E. Eyre & Andrew Spottiswoode, Printers to the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty & Sold at their Depository! It does have the Royal Publishers Stamp inside.
It is wrapped in black Moroccan leather with gold gilt detailing all over… it also has brass around the edges and a latch! The decorative gold gilt page ends on the inside are some of the most intricate & stunning I have ever seen… very custom & high end. Overall this book is in amazing condition for its age! Super clean inside and out!!
I was able to find a somewhat similar book to this by the same publisher & year… but it did not contain the gorgeous gold gilt pages & detailing like the one… so this is a very rare & custom design, which would have been made for someone as a gift! Someone with a lot of wealth.
