Stunning Antique, Victorian Sewing Box! This is one of the most beautiful boxes I have found… I love the unique design & amazing shell details! It is made of solid wood and has the most beautiful patina! I believe it is possibly made of mahogany… it has the diamond and star shell details, along with an original key hole… but I do not have the key… you could possibly find one or get one made. This would be perfect for storing sewing items, jewelry or trinkets! It has 5 compartments… one large at the bottom and then 4 smaller ones that fan out. They all glide nicely still. This is actually in great condition for how old this piece is… there are no chips or cracks in the wood! But there is some wear on the inside from use. This does come with the items I found inside of it… including an assortment of antique needles and a small strawberry pin cushion! So cute! The whole box is 8.5” wide, 6.25” tall, 5” deep The large compartment is 7.5” L, 3.75” W, 1.5”D Smaller compartments are 3.5”L, 3.5”W, 1.5”D
