1894 Set of The Stones of Venice by John Ruskin, published in London. These were made for the use of travelers while staying in Venice and Verona. A stunning set! They are bound in full purple leather, with the spines being faded to a light tan… they have the most amazing thick floral end pages and gold gilt detailing! I just adore them! There is also a sticker inside that says “In loving memory of Ruth Morrish Day and her mother, 1918 & 1929”. It is very difficult for me to find older books on Venice or anything Italian… so these are a treasure!
