Unique set of 1772 Books Titled “In the Search for Truth” in French, written by a Priest of the Oratory of Jesus. These look like they were rebound in full calf leather, with a gorgeous decorative spine. They are odd volumes that would have been part of a larger set. I hung onto these for quite some time because they were intriguing to me… the pages on the inside are the nice thick, textured paper from the 1700s and there are lots of different diagrams or illustrations throughout! I don’t find many older books on Astronomy and I know one of the chapters talks about the sun and moon patterns!
